01/30/2005: "useless hunk of crap"

I have moved a grand total of 16 feet today. All I've done is play magic online. I feel so used. I spent a good hour or 2 trying to get it to work faster in Linux (its a windows only game, but you can run it through wine if you mess with it long enough). The only problem is that running it through a like-emulation layer on Linux on my dumpy PIII machine is pretty darn slow. So I reluctantly booted back into Win2K to see if I could get it running again (for some reason it would always segfault when it tried to connect to the server) and after a few backups I decided to try and install windows over itself so that I could get a clean magic online installation. Then there was another problem, because I forgot the admin password, so I had to get a password resetting utility and use that (scary how cool that is). Then I reinstalled, and alas, the program still crashed. So running out of ideas, I decided to uninstall and reinstall the TCP/IP layer, and bam! It stopped crashing. Then I had to wait a good 30 min for the magic game to load the past 12 months worth of updates (since that was the last time I was on from windows). Sheesh, anyway, short story long....after I got it working I proceeded to play for probably a good solid 7 hours. I'm a disgusting human being. Don't start playing magic, its bad for your health.

While that was going on, I was listening to Of Montreal, their new album the sunlandic twins is pretty cool. Its like sugary indie pop mixed with a barbershop quartet on acid. I quite like it. Have a more productive day than I.
