10/27/2004: "summer in abaddon"

abaddon(n) Hell; the bottomless pit. So I finally got around to purchasing the new pinback cd. Its been on the net since mid July now, but finally in stores last week. Every one of their albums is better than the last. Of course, I can't understand 95% of what is being said in any of their songs (they include the lyrics, but I just haven't gotten around to reading them) but I don't care. Definitely some of the most sonically pleasing stuff out there. I must say I am a sucker for polyphony though, you put two melodies together and I am loving it. Throw on layered vocals and I can't get enough. Anyway, I highly recommend this album (and all their other albums and EPs), you won't be disappointed.
