10/24/2004: "So anyway..."

I just realized that I can put links on the side, and that way I can put links that I go to often there instead of going through my bookmarks. I like that. Sorry if you don't find it as useful as I do. Anyway, so in the car I was listening to the Pet Shop Boys collection thing, and "what have I done to deserve this?" came on. I really like the the lines:

At night, the people come and go
They talk too fast, and walk too slow
Chasing time from hour to hour
I pour the drinks and crush the flowers

especially the way he says "crush the flowers". I really don't know if you can ever really walk too slow though. Seems like people walk too fast and talk too fast as well. But then it wouldn't rhyme now, would it?

I often think that artists forsake good lyrics for a mediocre rhyming scheme. Which is too bad because I never though poetry was really about rhyming.
